02/05/15 – Announcing “The Live Like Lou Center for ALS Research”

The vaccine to conquer polio was discovered at The University of Pittsburgh over 60 years ago.  Now, it’s the start of a whole new ballgame!

We are thrilled to announce The Live Like Lou Center for ALS Research, a $10 million research facility at the University of Pittsburgh’s Brain Institute.  Neil knew that research to find a cure wouldn’t help himself, but he “wanted to do it for the next guy… the next father, mother, sister or brother who receives this diagnosis.”  His last public act was a pledge to raise $2.5 million over the next five years to make this Center a reality, and the University of Pittsburgh matched that pledge to bring the initial funding commitment of $5 million.  Big thanks to our many donors who have made this dream come true!  Click here to see the website for The University of Pittsburgh’s Brain Institute and see more about the LiveLikeLou Center for ALS Research.
