Jacob joined Live Like Lou’s Development Committee in the fall of 2023 and became a member of the Board of Trustees in 2025. A member of Phi Delta Theta Fraternity at Missouri State University, Jake also spent several years working on staff with Phi Delta Theta, further deepening his commitment to the organization’s values and lifelong brotherhood.
Why Jacob Plays for Live Like Lou 💙
Jacob was first introduced to Live Like Lou through his connection to Phi Delta Theta, but his passion for serving others, especially those facing the greatest challenges, is what ultimately drew him to the organization.
He recognizes that while ALS is often associated with Lou Gehrig’s legacy of perseverance, the reality of the disease is far more devastating. ALS takes away independence, alters careers, reshapes family dynamics, and changes how individuals connect with the world around them.
For Jacob, being part of Live Like Lou is a way to continue forward and contribute to a future where this disease no longer defines or limits lives.
Off the Field 🏟️
Jacob's greatest joy is spending time with his family and watching his children take on life’s challenges. Outside of his professional and board work, he enjoys traveling, playing golf, hiking, and relaxing with friends.
Favorite Team ⚾️
Growing up, Jacob played nearly every sport except soccer. Today, his two youngest children have pulled him into following the game. Because of them, he has become a fan of the U.S. Women’s National Team.
He is especially impressed by head coach Emma Hayes, who has built a team defined by both exceptional talent and strong cohesion. Jacob admires the team’s consistency, attitude, and effort—qualities he values most in any athlete.
