Inspired by the crew that wrapped their arms around Lou Gehrig and supported him upon receiving his fatal ALS diagnosis, you too can join the team to promote ALS awareness, raise money for ALS research, and leave ALS better than we found it.

Lou’s Crew is designed for anyone who wants to take on an athletic activity and be part of something bigger than themselves. Whether celebrating a birthday, training for a 5k, committing to walk a mile a day, and more—you can make an impact. Lou's Crew gives you the tools and inspiration to turn what you love doing into meaningful, unrestricted support for ALS families and research.

All it takes is choosing your activity and fundraising $444.

The lou workout

The Lou, named in honor of Lou Gehrig and inspired by his Yankees' jersey number, 4, is a partner workout with a bigger purpose: to leave ALS better than we found it. Featuring 44 rounds of 4 reps each of wallballs, pull-ups, burpees, and dumbbell snatches, partners split the work and persevere to honor Lou's legacy and support the fight against ALS.

The Lou Workout is held every January at gyms nationwide, raising funds to support ALS families and fund ALS research.

All in for Laurie

In September of 2021, Laurie Petrucce Roselle of Fishers, Indiana, was diagnosed with ALS. After years of giving tirelessly of herself to benefit others, those who know and love her went All in for Laurie to fund research for Lou Gehrig’s disease through the LiveLikeLou Foundation. Through a trivia night held Friday, November 18, 2022, in Carmel, Indiana, Laurie’s friends and supporters raised more than $37,000 for Live Like Lou.

Claire and Cooper’s Birthday

In memory of their grandfather, Doug Smith who died from ALS, Claire and Cooper celebrate their birthdays by raising awareness for ALS and fundraising for Live Like Lou. With every donation made, Claire and Cooper create artwork to send to local ALS families near their home in Georgia. The year 2022 marked Claire’s fourth birthday and fourth year of this fundraiser for Live Like Lou and it was Cooper’s first birthday and first year making his own mark on artwork. These kiddos have raised more than $20,000 with their efforts!

Willie Strong

Marc Williams, a husband, father, philanthropist, and ALS warrior, rallied his family and friends to walk near their Avon, Ohio, home on Sunday, September 11, 2022, with a goal of raising $10,000 for Live Like Lou. Not only did they meet that goal, they raised $14,610!
