Blue 4 Lou
Saturday, May 2 marks the 87th anniversary of the day Lou Gehrig benched himself ahead of the New York Yankees’ game in 1939, ending his legendary streak of 2,130 consecutive games played. When asked why, the Iron Horse simply said it was “for the good of the team.” Soon after, the world would learn he was living with ALS. In honor of Lou and everyone affected by ALS, we invite you to wear blue on Saturday, May 2 for #Blue4Lou. Encourage friends and family to join you, share your photos on social media, and tell us who you wear blue for. Don’t forget to tag @livelikelou4 so we can spotlight your post and help spread awareness. 💙⚾
