We were honored to celebrate one of our Lou Gehrig Memorial Scholarship recipients Tuesday night, August 8, at the Chicago White Sox game! Madelyn Goodman’s dad was diagnosed with ALS in 2017 and passed away earlier this year. She’s entering her senior year at University of Tennessee, Knoxville and studying to become a nurse.

Madelyn’s scholarship was made possible through the generosity of Live Like Lou’s donors and supporters and we are grateful to have supported her family and honor their ALS journey in a small way.

We were joined on the field by our friends at Phi Delta Theta Fraternity who honored White Sox pitcher Liam Hendriks as a finalist for the Lou Gehrig Memorial Award.

  • Nat Love, Phi Delta Theta General Council
  • Kosta Dimos, University of Akron, whose chapter was the top fundraising chapter for the Iron Phi program in 2021-22
  • Spencer Campbell, Ball State University, who was the top individual fundraiser for the Iron Phi program in 2022-23 with more than $17,000 raised

Congratulations, Liam and Madelyn!
