The generosity of donors has allowed the Live Like Lou Foundation to:

• Award home improvement grants for families affected by ALS, funding renovations that became necessary after their loved one’s diagnosis. We’ve funded $65,000 in grants in the last year... and we’re just getting started.
• Support ALS families with volunteers to help with short-term or one-time projects in and around their homes.
• Provide scholarships for outstanding students who are dependents of someone who has/had ALS.
• Fund direct support to emerging ALS researchers to progress in their careers and remain studying ALS. We know that investments in research today lead to tomorrow’s trials, treatments, and cures for ALS.
• Give the gift of mobility in partnership with Permobil to surprise people living with ALS with a brand new power wheelchair during Lou Gehrig Day celebrations in Major League Baseball.

Continued support will ensure we can advance our mission, provide desperately needed support, cultivate community, and invigorate and sustain emerging science.

Giving Tuesday, a worldwide day of supporting nonprofits of all shapes and sizes is Tuesday, November 28. The Live Like Lou Foundation has a one-day goal of raising $5,444 or more from at least 44 people like you. Why?

Because there’s more need than ever for the programs the Live Like Lou Foundation provides, and it takes the generosity and support of our donors to power our mission.

That’s why when you join us in reaching our $5,444 goal, you’ll be supporting:

• The 65 scholarship applicants we weren’t able to fund this year.
• Volunteers serving the 246 families affected by ALS who’ve registered for our programs since this time last year.
• Meeting the need of families affected by Lou Gehrig’s disease to renovate their homes to provide safety and independence for their loved ones with ALS.
• Continued funding for emerging ALS research to lead us closer to meaningful treatments or a cure for this disease.
