Maycee Wilkie

Communications & Marketing Specialist

Maycee graduated from Iowa State University with a bachelor’s degree in public relations and minors in event management and political science.

She joined Live Like Lou in the summer of 2024 as a social media intern, primarily supporting the Foundation’s signature event, The Lou Workout, and was promoted to Communications & Marketing Specialist in the spring of 2025.

Prior to Live Like Lou, Maycee gained marketing and communications experience through internships at Latham Hi-Tech Seeds, the Iowa State University Financial Aid Office, and Pritchard Companies, where she supported brand presence, internal and external communications, and digital engagement strategies.

Why She Plays for LLL ⚾️

Maycee’s connection to ALS is deeply personal. She first encountered ALS through the Ice Bucket Challenge, long before fully understanding the disease. A couple years later, her father, Mark, was diagnosed with ALS. He lived with the disease for nearly three years before passing away in 2019. Since then, Maycee has dedicated herself to educating others and advocating for the ALS community, using storytelling to bring light, honesty, and hope to a space often filled with uncertainty.

Even before joining the Live Like Lou staff, Maycee was closely connected to the Foundation as a 2024 Onward Award scholarship recipient and a member of Lou’s Crew.

Off the Field 🏟️

A lifelong sports enthusiast, Maycee enjoys cheering on the Creighton Bluejays and Iowa State Cyclones on the basketball court, the Minnesota Twins on the baseball diamond, and the Iowa Hawkeyes and Minnesota Vikings on the football field. When she’s not at a game or watching from home, she loves attending live music events, spending time with her family, and taking her dog Luna on walks.
