The Live Like Lou Foundation is pleased to announce that applications are open for its Postdoctoral Fellowship Program. The Live Like Lou Postdoctoral Fellowship Program is intended to encourage and expand the number of investigators conducting innovative neurodegenerative disease research aimed at finding treatments or cures for ALS. The 2026 program will award two early-career scientists interested in ALS at an academic institution or equivalent research environment. View the application and requested materials here.

Funding and Eligibility

  • Applicants must be in their first four years of postdoctoral training.
  • This award must be administered through the students’ university. Payment will be made to the university, not directly to the student.
  • Indirect costs to the institution are not allowed
  • Up to $75,000 per year for up to two years beginning September 2026. Funds may be used to assist in underwriting salary expenses.
  • Non-US citizens and institutions are eligible for funding.
